Artist's Comments
One of the nastiest of the Callahan's specialty rounds, the Hydra uses a conventional explosive charge to propel a miniature flechette canister. Shortly after exiting the barrel, the canister opens, revealing 180 tiny explosive-tipped needles held in place by a magnetic field. Once open, the canister's magnetic field reverses polarity, causing the needles to scatter across the target. Upon piercing the target, the needles explode, causing widespread surface damage.
